What
our customers have to say about the Super Saddle
Dear Anton,

Another
satisfied customer! I too would like to commend you on a fantastic product.
I found the Super Saddle after several attempts to find a road bike saddle
that didn't leave me numb. Rides as short as 15 miles with conventional
saddles would cause problems, but not so with the Super Saddle. I've put
about 800 miles on it so far without a complaint, and mostly on the aerobars.
The MS 150 is coming up next month, and with all the riders that ask about
my seat, I'm sure I'll be sending some business your way!
Sincerely,
Amy Rose

I would
like to thank you for the Super Saddle, which I received from ABS Sports
six weeks ago. I was not sure if the saddle would deliver as advertised
in the Bicycling magazine August 1998 issue. The reason for the apprehension
is that for the past year and a half, I have accumulated a total of ten
bike seats including the Super Saddle in the hopes of eliminating the pain/stress
while sitting endless hours either training, recreation or competition.
Listed below are some of my training and competitive rides over 50 miles:
August
1 - 100 miles
August 2 - 100 miles
August 9 - 108 miles |
August
16 - 150 miles
August 22/23 - 285 miles
August 26 - 54 miles |
The verdict: no pain/numbness in the following areas (tailbone, arteries,
perineum and urethra, prostrate). I have only been competing in the ultra
marathon cycling arena for about a year and a half. If only I could have
used the Super Saddle last June at the 16th National 24 Hour Challenge,
I might have gone 400 plus miles instead of 339 miles. Perhaps next year.
I believe your product, the Super Saddle, is dependable, effective and the
only pain-free saddle that I will be using in the years to come.
Respectfully,
Michael J. Reyes

I
recently purchased the Super Saddle for use on my Softride PowerWing 700
racing bike and am amazed by your product. I race in triathlons throughout
the Southeast and am amazed at how effectively this seat eliminates the
painful pressure I experienced on a traditional bicycle saddle. As a rider
who trains and races in the aero position, traditional seats quickly proved
to be problematic and ultimately led to my suffering continual pain and
numbness. After two years of racing and several medical consultations, I
found myself facing the difficult decision of finding a different bike seat
or giving up riding all together. Thanks to your design, I can now train
and race without any discomfort at all. I truly recommend every serious
biker and triathlete give this seat a chance. It will truly revolutionize
the way you ride and prevent you from ever having to face the tough decision
I did. Thank you for such an excellent product.
Very truly yours,

Thank you very much for introducing me to the new Super Saddle
Supreme. This single piece of equipment will make it possible for me to
continue my precision cycling. As you may recall from our conversation,
bicycling is my major hobby. I am 52 years old, and for the past two decades,
I have averaged about 8,000 miles of cycling per year. Giving up the sport
is something that I would never want to do, but this summer I was forced
to consider the possibility. In the middle of a week-long bicycle trip,
that was planned to cover 600 miles, I developed a severe prostate problem
that made it impossible for me to continue cycling. Fortunately, I received
excellent medical care from my urologist and I recovered quickly. However,
it is now apparent that my prostate will require some "extra attention"
and may not tolerate the kind of precision bicycling that I consider to
be a regular part of my life. I checked out some of the new saddles with
cutouts and splits that are designed to solve this kind of problem. Many
of them seemed to be a great idea, but I quickly discovered that they just
did not work for me. (as a matter of fact, I was using one of the fancier
versions of these saddles - one with an adjustable gap - when I had my prostate
attack during the summer.) As you can imagine, I was quite discouraged.
The first time I spoke to you on the phone, you could probably hear the
desperation in my voice. When I first tried out the Super Saddle Supreme,
I had my doubts. It looks very different than most saddles. The short "nose"
makes it a bit difficult to micro-adjust the tipping angle and the feel
is so different that it took me about 50 miles of riding to get used to
it. But in a couple of days, I was utterly delighted. Your Super Saddle
Supreme is remarkably easy to tolerate for that sensitive area "down under!"
When I switched back to my old saddle for a test run, I knew that I really
needed to stay with the Super Saddle Supreme on my road bike with drop handle
bars. The comfort level that I have experienced on the Super Saddle Supreme
is far beyond any other saddle that I have ever used and I would be happy
to share this discovery with any cyclists that are interested. If you have
any cyclists that need some guidance in adjusting the saddle, please feel
free to give them my phone number. Good luck with this outstanding new product
and thank you for providing a saddle that will allow me to continue cycling.
Sincerely,

As
you are aware, my friend has been using your Super Saddle for the past few
weeks and loves it. Another friend and I ride with him frequently, and we
have both tried his new saddle on our own bikes. I must say I was convinced
immediately, and knew within only one mile of riding that this new design
is a revelation. I have used numerous saddles, but none even comes close
to the comfort of yours. This is the first saddle that makes good anatomic
sense, and corrects everything wrong with traditional designs. You have
an absolutely magnificent product that I feel will soon be on the way to
becoming the most popular saddle design in the near future. Kudos to all
those who were involved in its production. I will be ordering mine today.
If you produce a new model in black, I will buy a second!
Yours truly,
Dana L. Goldsmith, M.D.

Thank
you for your help in finding the "right" saddle for the job. As you know,
I have crushed several nerves and arteries from conventional saddles, and
have been on the prowl for substitutes. I think that I have found it with
your "grooved-horn" configuration. Let me review the background. I am an
avid mountain biker, 5'9", 172 lbs., logging about 6-8 hours a week in the
saddle. Like most urban-based mountain-bikers, I ride about half my hours
on the road. To find relief for my problem, I first went to my local bike
shop and was given a saddle with a slight cut-out in the shell. This only
made matters worse. Next, I ordered from you a Dual-Action Seat. This had
no horn what so ever and therefore offered completely safe riding. However,
I found it to be very unstable, especially off-road, and impossible to get
behind in deep decent. Another disadvantage was having to use a very heavy,
custom-built post to accommodate the seat. Finally, you sent me this "grooved-horn"
saddle. This is a real saddle, not just a seat. There is a horn, but it
is so recessed that it seldom touches, yet is there for stability and steering
against the sides of the thighs. Additionally, this conventional rail-equipped
unit can be mounted on a standard light-weight seat-post. This had proved
to be an excellent compromise. Again, thank you for your assistance.

Dear ABS,
I want to let you and prospective customers know that I have an enlarged
prostate. Therefore I have my PSA checked quite regularly. In December 1999
my PSA was 3.5 I began my bike riding after an eight-year hiatus in early
June. After about a month of bike riding my PSA read 4.9. This was the highest
reading I have had since October 1996. My urologist wanted me to lay off
riding for two months which I agreed to, but I very much wanted to ride
again. I searched for a saddle that would not adversely affect my PSA readings.
I found that in the ABS Sports Super Saddle Supreme which I bought in early
September and began using it immediately. I've had two readings, one before
I bought my Super Saddle Supreme and one after. The August one was 3.3 and
I got two readings in October 2.7 and 3.4 I felt so strongly about this
Super Saddle that I bought another one for another bike I recently bought.
I know this is a lot of detail, but I want your prospective customers to
know how happy I am with the results I obtained and attribute to the saddle.
Sincerely,
A. Feuchtwanger

Dear ABS,
Last summer I cycled in the neighborhood of 2,000 miles and at times experienced
discomfort, pressure and numbness. Therefore, I have read with much interest
all the recent articles written in Bicycling Magazine and elsewhere in regard
to comfort and physical problems for both men and women riders. I have investigated
better saddles for about six months and decided to order your Dual-Action
Seat. It was my lucky day when I called you and you answered the phone.
After discussing my riding needs, particularly the fact that I ride with
an aerobar, and am therefore in a low, leaning forward position, you advised
me that you had just developed a new saddle which you are calling the SUPER
SADDLE. The fact that the SUPER SADDLE has a wide seat allows me to sit
on bone rather than sensitive tissue. Its short nose allows the rider to
lean forward with no contact with sensitive tissue, and the deep center
groove affords the rider once again no contact with soft sensitive tissue.
When my SUPER SADDLE arrived the other day, I installed it immediately and
yesterday gave it a 26-mile test. I am absolutely convinced that this is
the best saddle that I have ever used. In fact, two of my riding buddies
are going to try it out and will most likely be ordering them.
Thank you for bringing common sense to bicycling.
Very truly yours,
J. Fishman
